In 2022 when Russia officially came over the border into Ukraine I wrote a thing (The USA Instigated the War in Ukraine) regarding how Russia had very much been sucked into this war by the United States.
That provided some pretty damning evidence of US involvement, but hindsight is 20/20 (ish), and I think we can now add a little bit more detail to the situation.
What we're seeing now (2025), is Donald Trump, having taken control of the White House, supposedly pushing for peace, but actually, just pushing to take control of Ukraine's mineral resources. As I said, hindsight is 20/20, and I'm now wondering to what extent this was the US plan all along.
Prior to 2014, the IMF had Ukraine in debt, and were pushing that Ukraine should be opening up it's land rights to international investment. When Ukraine refused, and turned to Russia for financial support (which Russia gave them), those in Ukraine who were hoping to end up more western facing... decided to have a revolution. The US have a history of inspiring revolutions in foreign countries.
Then East Ukrainians (of Russian origin) in the Donbas regions stated they didn't want to be a part of this new Ukraine. Rather than offer them a referendum for independence, the new government set its military on East Ukraine instead. That was the start of this war. It's was in 2014, not 2022.
Now why would ordinary Ukrainians care if people in the East want self governance? They'd just won it for themselves. Why couldn't the people of Donbas or Crimea have it too?
The US however... we can only speculate about what the US wanted but it's rather looking like it was access to ALL of Ukraine's resources.
Russia supported the Separatists, the US supports the revolutionary government, and we have a US/Russia proxy war over Ukraine, or more to the point, over Ukraine's resources.
Donald Trump has taken control of the White House, and under the guise of pushing for peace, is pushing to take control of Ukraine's mineral resources. He's being very blatant about it.
The world's media are trying to blame this all on Trump...
Now I don't think Trump is a nice guy, and that's putting it mildly... but I very much wonder if this was the US plan all along. There are apparently some pretty vital minerals in Ukraine which are necessary for a lot of modern technology. The US wants to get it's hands on them one way or another. It's not like the US has ever been a charity who just hand out weapons to needy countries for the sake of it. The US has always had its eyes on some prize or other; It's looking like Trump has just let us know far more detail about what the larger part of that prize actually is.
Don't be fooled by the notion that the Republicans and Democrats are anything other than two sides of the same coin, both in the pocket of the US banking and military industrial complex. Biden and Obama were never offering Ukraine military aid out of charity.
It's now looking to me, very much like this was the US plan all along; get Ukraine into a war with Russia, get Ukraine into debt, and then get Ukraine to hand over it's mineral rights to pay off that debt.
Which is pretty much what the IMF were trying to do originally; that is get Ukraine into debt, then force them to open up Ukraine to foreign investment so international (US) buyers could get their hands on Ukraine's land (and hence mineral) rights.
In hindsight, it all appears rather obvious, if, I accept, not 100% proven.
